Dear Unit Leadership,

Service to Community is a Scouting Tenet.
The Chattahoochee District believes Scouting for Food (SFF) helps each and every Scout while increasing the visibility of the Scouting at the neighborhood level.

We encourage ALL units to participate in SFF every year.

Helping collect food is easy, fun and satisfying. Often families in our own communities face temporary economic set backs. Placing groceries on the table can become a real challenge. Our Scouts and Scouters understand. We are prepared to help with Service.

Dear Unit SFF Chairperson…
  1. Register on-line at the AAC –SFF web page.

  2. Select a charity of your choice. Call and let them know you will be dropping food off. If you do not have a food bank charity preference, we recommend North Fulton Community Charities.

  3. Personalize your SFF program. How you collect the food, how you promote the program, when you start, how long it lasts and what incentives you use, etc. is all up to you. Be competitive. Have fun.

  4. Use CD and AAC SFF Support and Resources. AAC provides BSA plastic food Collection Bags - free. Available at Round Table.

  5. Fit your SFF program into your Unit calendar. March is AAC-SFF Month. November 1 to April 1 is OK to accommodate busy unit schedules, school calendars and extracurricular activities.

  6. Report your results on-line. April 1 Results are due. Keep accurate records. Number of Scouts. How much food. Service hours. All are a must for patches and honors.

  7. Reward Scouts & Brag. Send in pics for The River. Contact District Scouting for Food Chair, Bud Zborowski at zboro @ aol.com
